Betty's Bay is a coastal town an hour east of Cape Town. It was a whaling station in the late 1800s. Later it became better known for its unusual resident: the African penguin! The penguins settled at Stoney Point beach at the beginning of the 20th century. This made Stoney point one of 2 mainland penguin colonies. Guests will have some time to walk along the penguin beach and see the penguins up close.

From Hermanus, our journey will take us through a picturesque village called Elim. Elim was established in 1824 by German settlers. It was the 3rd Moravian station near Cape Town and very little has changed over the years. Rows of whitewashed, thatch-roofed cottages line the streets of this charming village. And all the fig tree-lined streets lead to the church! Guests will have time to walk around and visit the town's small rose garden.

3 hours Southeast of Cape town City is the most Southern tip of the African continent: Cape Agulhas. It's here that the warm Indian Ocean collides with the icy Atlantic. The rugged coastline hosts over 21 000 wetland and seabirds of different types. The Serengeti of the seas, named because of its diverse marine life, is also a part of the Cape floral kingdom. The richest floral kingdom in the world! About 2000 different plant species are resident in this area and with over 100 being endemic. While we are here, you will have ample time to explore the coastal plains. You can also visit the Cape Agulhas lighthouse; the second oldest in South Africa. A walk up to the summit of the lighthouse provides one with a bird's eye view of the town and the museum at the bottom.
